Hi, Iām Melissa, I am a cat-obsessed graphic designer and horror film geek.
I believe that good design should be both functional and beautiful and I strive to create designs that not only look great, but help my clients achieve their goals.
I am currently a 2nd year Graphic Design student at Arts University Bournemouth and have been thoroughly enjoying every project thrown at me, from creating a zine to hand coding a website using HTML.
I enjoy working digitally. I am proficient in a range of software, including Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. I love to experiment and improve my skills. Recently, I collaborated on a short motion sequence that aimed to expand the membership base of Unison. During the short project, we created the narrative and animated 60 seconds of animation, utilising recent skills in Cinema 4D and After Effects.
I love print. Recently, I created a 60-page book that documented the process of a Post Growth project, where we imagined society without fossil fuels. During the project I particularly enjoyed developing skills in typography and layout. Using colour and attention to detail are my core skills.
Outside of uni, I get a chance to use my graphic design skills to create events posters and menus for The Sanctuary Care Home. I really love this work as it provides industry experience in communicating and designing for a range of people and abilities.
I am very keen to learn more about the design industry and am currently looking for an internship over the summer. I am a fast learner and have a great eye for detail. If you have any opportunities available, please drop me a message!
Thank you for reading this, and I look forward to hearing from you.
